Cooking
for vegans is probably the most difficult of all vegetarian categories
as they will not eat any animal product and that includes such foods
as honey, which comes from bees.
That's
too bad, because University of Illinois researchers have just released
a study confirming that because honey is made from plant nectar,
it contains the same antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables,
although at a much lower level.
To enjoy more honey, drizzle it over grapefruit; combine it with
butter and spread on English muffins; add it to vinegar to make
a nonfat salad dressing; combine equal parts of honey and mustard
as a dip for veggies or a spread for sandwiches.
